RED FLAG

Function
To provide an easy way to determine if a loan is delinquent, or needs attention for other reasons.  A message in red detailing the reason a loan is being flagged per the user setup will appear at the bottom of the Loan Master file and Loan Activity screens, allowing any staff viewing those screens to quickly realize there is something unusual about the loan being viewed.


Operating Instructions
Options are given to:

1. Flag all loans automatically when they become delinquent.
2. Flag all loans identified by an optional field.
3. Flag all loans associated with a specified loan fund.
4. Flag loans one by one.
5. Flag by status

• Flag loans automatically when they become delinquent is accomplished by selecting the first option from the following screen.  When this option is chosen, all loans will be flagged on the first day the loan is delinquent, based upon the Next Payment Due Date on the last recorded activity.  No other options need to be selected if the goal is to flag all delinquent loans. 
• Flag loans identified by an optional field requires than an optional field be established, format text, and Loan Master files edited so that Yes is held in that field for loans to be flagged.  If this option is chosen, select the appropriate question from the drop menu: 
• Flag loans associated with a specified loan fund is accomplished by selecting the desired fund(s).  
• Flag loans allows loans to be selected one by one. 
• Flag loans by status allows you to select which status codes to be flagged such as “delinquent”. 

The five methods of selecting loans to be flagged may not be combined.  For example, if you select a loan fund, all loans within that fund will be flagged regardless of delinquency status.

You must Save your flagging selection before selecting Print.

Things You Should Know
Once a loan balance becomes zero, the loan will no longer be flagged.

Be certain to Save your format before selecting Print.
