OPTIONAL MASTER FIELDS

Function
To allow user to attach additional fields to each Loan Master file.  


Operating Instructions
Select Optional Master Fields from task bar and enter data as desired.

Adding a new code: 
Select process button New, enter a code under “Code” and an appropriate description under “Description”.  Click “Save” to save the code.  Once saved, it will appear within the grid.

Editing an existing code:  
Double-click on the item in the grid, or if you have a code on the screen but wish to edit a different description, you may click on the previous/next buttons to cycle through the codes.  Make appropriate changes and click “Save” to save the changes.  Once saved, the changes will appear within the grid.

Deleting an existing code:  
Double click on the line to be deleted within the grid.  This will bring the code and description to the screen. You may then delete by selecting the Delete icon. The screen will prompt for verification your intent is to delete the selected code.  Once you have responded “Yes” to the prompt, your code will be deleted. 

Fields 
Field #Automatic number provided by program.

Description               
Enter the field description as it should appear in the Loan Master files.

Type                           
Select the type of data to be held within the field from the combo box: 

Text – allows 20-character alpha/numeric input 

Date – allows 8-digit date entry (ex: 11/30/08)

Number – allows 20-character numeric entry 

Report
Selecting this button will create an Excel spreadsheet listing every loan in your portfolio along with any response entered for the Optional Field selected.

Things You Should Know
  • When Optional Fields are created, that field will become available in each Loan Master file for data entry.  It will be reflected when the Loan Master file is printed, and available in Master File Query.  
  • Deleting an Optional Field will result in that field and the data within it being permanently deleted from the Loan Master file.
